Climate in Gran Canaria in October – weather forecast
Overall, October weather in Gran Canaria is characterized by warm, stable conditions near the coast, with more variability in the mountains. The weather is generally sunny with little precipitation, although there may be a few cloudy days. The transition from summer to autumn is perceptible, but you’ll have excellent conditions to enjoy everything the island has to offer.
Seaside weather
Coastal areas, especially in the south, tend to be drier and hotter.
The trade winds, which blow from the northeast, play an important role in moderating temperatures and provide a pleasant breeze, particularly in coastal areas. These winds help maintain comfortable humidity levels and prevent the island from becoming too hot, despite its proximity to the Sahara desert.
Weather in the mountains
In the mountains, the weather can be more variable. Temperatures are cooler at higher altitudes, and there is a greater chance of clouds and occasional rain.
But it also offers opportunities to see seas of clouds when you climb to altitude early enough in the morning!
