Why stay at Playa El Veril, north of Playa del Inglés? First of all, we were seduced by the peace and quiet of the beach, offering a relaxing environment if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Choosing Playa El Veril is an option that gives nature pride of place. Golden sands, clear waters and tall palm trees make this an ideal place to relax and soak up the sun, under the watchful eye of lifeguards. Diving enthusiasts? Enjoy the region’s magnificent ocean floor and discover its marine biodiversity. Last but not least, we particularly liked this area because accommodations along Playa El Veril often offer easy access to a diverse range of services and amenities.
Benefits:
- Close to Playa El Veril beach (showers, toilets, PRM access, elevator)
- Supervised beach from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from mid-June to mid-September and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from mid-September to mid-June.

If you choose to stay in downtown Playa del Inglés, you’re opting for convenience and a central location! With a multitude of accommodation options to suit all budgets, you’re immersed in the heart of the seaside resort. Explore the boutiques, restaurants and bars along the promenade or in the alleyways, offering lively nightlife and traditional local cuisine. Sunbathe whenever you like or try out water sports such as paddling and snorkelling? This is possible because you’ll still be close to the beach without being far from public transport, making it easier to explore the island.

Other useful tips to keep in mind
- The Canary Islands are popular destinations all year round. Although the peak season in the northern hemisphere is winter, the climate is ideal for year-round visits. A sunny destination means crowds, which means anticipation! Remember to book your accommodation as early as possible, as Playa del Inglés is a very popular seaside resort.
- Bordering Maspalomas, it is also the venue for several unique events such as the International Carnival in southern Gran Canaria (more info here), whose date changes every year. The region also hosts one of Spain’s biggest pride events: Gay Pride Maspalomas in May and Winter Pride in November (more info here).
- Playa del Inglés is a seaside resort that has established itself over the years as one of Europe’s leading LGBTQIA+ friendly destinations.
- Don’t forget to check parking conditions and whether your accommodation has a parking lot. It can be difficult to find space around Playa del Inglés and Playa El Veril, as they are very busy and busy all year round.
- Located in the south of Gran Canaria, close to the Maspalomas Special Nature Reserve, Playa del Inglés is a good starting point for exploring the south of the island and doing a variety of hikes.

Prepare to be immersed in an oasis of paradise. In its well-kept gardens, the youngest guests can have fun on the playground, while older guests can enjoy a multitude of outdoor activities such as table tennis, tennis and miniature golf. The hotel organizes evening entertainment for the whole family. Why stay there?
Another option to consider in Playa del Inglés is the Hotel Corallium Dunamar. Our room was bright and spacious, and the atmosphere was really relaxing. We were even surprised by the armchairs with footrests for optimum comfort. From our balcony on the 4th floor, the view of the garden and the sea was sublime, with a table and 2 armchairs waiting for us to relax in. What makes this hotel a must for us is its beachfront location, with no other buildings to obstruct the view. This is one of the few hotels in the resort offering direct access to the Playa del Inglés beach on the same level. The icing on the cake: with its 3 swimming pools, the Corallium Dunamar Hotel guarantees sunny, refreshing days in pleasant surroundings.
