Climate in Gran Canaria in June – weather forecast
The weather in Gran Canaria in June is generally pleasant and stable, similar to summer conditions. Many find the weather ideal for exploring the island’s diverse landscapes and engaging in outdoor activities without the even more intense heat of summer.
Minimal daily fluctuations make it easy to plan your adventures and visits.
Seaside weather
Near the sea, conditions are generally warm and sunny, with a refreshing sea breeze. Coastal areas enjoy clear skies and pleasant temperatures, perfect for beach activities and water sports. The air is often less humid than in the later summer months.
Weather in the mountains
In mountainous regions, the weather can be more variable. Although generally warm and sunny, temperatures tend to be cooler than at sea level. We therefore advise you to choose the hottest days to take altitide.
The contrast between sunny mornings and potentially cloudy afternoons in the mountains adds to the diversity of the island’s weather.

- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.

June rainfall in Gran Canaria is minimal. The island sees very little rainfall, with most days being dry and sunny. When it does rain, it’s usually light and short-lived.

Wind conditions in Gran Canaria in June are generally mild to moderate. The island is swept by the trade winds, which bring a refreshing breeze, particularly to the coastal areas. These winds are generally constant but not too strong, which doesn’t prevent you from exploring, but does help to moderate temperatures.

The average sea temperature in Gran Canaria in June is between 21 and 22°C (70 and 72°F). This temperature is relatively constant around the island, with slight variations depending on specific locations and currents. We find it very pleasant for swimming and water sports.

Crowds and other conditions
In June on Gran Canaria, the crowds are moderate. It’s an off-season month, but the tourists are starting to arrive for the summer. The southern regions, such as Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, are particularly popular, which translates into busier beaches and restaurants.
Dolphins and whales in June
Dolphins and whales can be seen around Gran Canaria in June, as the region is home to a wide variety of cetaceans all year round. We highly recommend it.
The most commonly observed dolphins are bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins and common dolphins. They can be seen all year round.
Conditions are often just right for a boat trip.
There are tours in catamarans, speedboats and more traditional boats. Departures are mainly from the port of Puerto Rico in the south of the island.
