Climate in Gran Canaria in May – weather forecast

Gran Canaria’s climate in May is generally pleasant and stable, ideal for exploring all the magnificent landscapes. You appreciate the minimal risk of prolonged bad weather or extreme temperatures.

Seaside weather

Near the coast, conditions are generally warm and sunny, with light sea breezes cooling the atmosphere. The climate is characterized by clear skies and low humidity, making it ideal for beach activities and coastal exploration. We love this period for enjoying the beaches and, above all, the natural pools.

Weather in the mountains

In the mountainous interior, the weather can be slightly cooler and more variable. Mornings are often clear, but clouds can form as the day progresses, especially at higher altitudes. This creates a dynamic landscape where you can encounter sunny conditions in one area and cooler, foggier weather in another a short distance away.
On the hottest days, the central lands can offer a refreshing break.

OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN Gran Canaria
  • Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
  • If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
  • But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
  • There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.
