Climate in Tenerife in March – weather forecast
In March, Tenerife enjoys a pleasant spring climate. Conditions are different depending on whether you’re on the north or south coast of the island, or at altitude in the heart of the Teide National Park.
On the south coast
Tenerife’s south coast, especially around Costa Adeje, enjoys a drier, sunnier climate. We particularly like this area for its bright days and mild temperatures. Precipitation is rare and the wind remains moderate. These are ideal conditions for enjoying beaches and outdoor activities.

On the north coast
The north of the island, towards Puerto de la Cruz and in Anaga Park, has a slightly more variable climate. There are occasional cloudy spells in the morning, which generally dissipate during the day. Temperatures remain pleasant but can be a little cooler than in the south. This more verdant zone owes its lush vegetation to higher humidity (but nothing to stop you on your vacation!).
In the heights
At higher altitudes, especially around Mount Teide, conditions are very different. We recommend bringing warm clothing, as temperatures can drop significantly, especially at night. The weather is generally clear with excellent visibility, making it an ideal time for stargazing and mountain hiking.

- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.
