Is Playa de Los Guios worth it?
Yes, this beach is well worth a visit for its exceptional location at the foot of Los Gigantes. We were very impressed by the perspective of the rocky cliff faces plunging into the ocean. The beach’s location, right next to the marina, makes it an excellent starting point for sea outings: kayaking, sailing or dolphin-watching… See prices, photos and availability.
Lying on the sand at Playa de Los Guios is one of our favorite activities at Los Gigantes.
Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The floor of Playa de Los Guios is made up of black sand and rocks. We advise you to wear beach shoes, as the rocks can be slippery and the sand hot under the Tenerife sun.
Swimming conditions and supervision
The beach is supervised, but we recommend you take care as currents can be strong. At the time of our visit, the beach was open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and part of it was inaccessible due to falling rocks.
Installations
Despite its small size, the beach offers sunbeds and parasols for hire. They take up a lot of space at the height of the season, when the world is in full swing. Showers and toilets are also available.
