Is Playa de Los Cristianos worth it?
Yes, it’s a beautiful beach and well worth a visit. Playa de Los Cristianos is one of the most popular beaches in the south of Tenerife, thanks to its ideal swimming conditions and family-friendly setting. We enjoyed the gentle waters and the quality of the facilities. Note that this is an artificial beach in stark contrast to the island’s typical volcanic beaches.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches on Tenerife and one of the main attractions of Los Cristianos.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The floor of Playa de Los Cristianos is made up of fine golden sand. We immediately noticed how it contrasted with the surrounding volcanic landscape. And, indeed, sand was imported from the Sahara to create this artificial beach. Its soft texture makes it very comfortable to lie on and makes the beach an ideal playground for sandcastles.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are excellent on Playa de Los Cristianos. The slope is gentle and gradual, perfect for safe entry into the water at any age. We particularly appreciated the tranquility of the waters, protected by artificial dikes that limit the effect of the waves. Signs indicate that the beach is supervised in season.

The beach also offers a wide range of activities, from water sports to beach sports such as beach volleyball.
