Is the weather good in Tenerife in June? Is this a good time to visit?
We love Tenerife in June for its perfect summer climate, with pleasant temperatures between 23°C and 27°C during the day. The sun shines generously, with around 10 to 12 hours of daily sunshine. In our opinion, this is one of the best times to visit the island, before the July-August heatwaves and when crowds are still manageable.

Travelling to Tenerife in June: summary of conditions
Temperatures
Temperatures are summery but very pleasant in June. The thermometer averages 23°C to 27°C (73°F to 81°F) during the day. Nights are mild, with temperatures between 18°C and 20°C (64°F-68°F). We particularly appreciate this climate, which allows us to take full advantage of outdoor activities without suffering from the intense summer heat.
Water temperatures
Atlantic ocean temperatures reach 21°C to 22°C (70°F to 72°F). In our opinion, these are ideal conditions for swimming and water sports. The water is warm enough for long swimming sessions, whether in the natural pools or on the protected beaches.
Crowds and prizes
June marks the start of the high season, but attendance remains moderate compared to July-August. Prices are starting to rise.
Opening conditions
Everything is open in Tenerife in June: attractions, hotels, restaurants and tourist services are in full swing.
Length of day
Daylight hours average 14h between sunrise and sunset. The sun rises around 7.10am and sets at around 9pm. This gives you long days to explore the island and take full advantage of the outdoor activities.

Climate in Tenerife in June – weather forecast
In June, Tenerife enjoys an ideal summer climate. We particularly appreciate this period of stable, sunny weather. The island’s characteristic microclimate, influenced by Mount Teide, creates a variety of conditions depending on the region.
On the coast
Along the coast, you’ll enjoy warm, dry weather. The southern coastal areas, notably Costa Adeje and Los Gigantes, enjoy the best conditions, with almost constant sunshine. Rainfall is very rare at this time of year.
In the heights
At higher altitudes, particularly in the Teide region, temperatures are cooler and therefore very pleasant for hiking. We recommend early morning excursions to take advantage of the best conditions. The air is dry and clear, offering excellent visibility. The afternoons may see the formation of a few clouds, but precipitation remains exceptional.

- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.

As everywhere, prices vary depending on what you are looking for. Accommodation ranges from youth hostels to 5-star hotels. This makes it difficult to give a precise budget. In June, the number of tourists gradually increases, and prices follow the same trend. This is the start of the high season, especially in tourist areas such as Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos.
