Is Playa de Amadores worth it?
Yes, Playa Amadores is a pleasant beach at the foot of a large volcanic cliff. It’s one of the most beautiful in Gran Canaria and one of Puerto Rico’s main attractions. We found it perfect for swimming and sunbathing! The water is Claire, the sand blond. There are even chairs and umbrellas for hire, as well as inflatable water games. A perfect way to spend a lazy day.
Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made of golden-colored sand. It combines fine and thick grains. There are also small black pebbles. Volcanic rocks punctuate the end of the beach. We found that the contrast between the black of the stones and the blue of the water formed a beautiful landscape.
Swimming conditions and supervision
The sea is ideal for swimming, especially as the small bay is protected by dykes. We also saw that the beach is supervised.
Installations
We found public showers and toilets right on the beach.
