1. El Puerto Restaurant
Within theHotel Marina Suites Gran Canaria, at the end of the harbor, facing the sea, the El Puerto restaurant offers internationally inspired dishes, mostly based on products from theAtlantic Ocean. In a maritime atmosphere (deckchair stripes, wooden shutters and walls covered in fishing net), we enjoyed creative market cuisine.
The open terrace above the marina lets you enjoy the fresh sea breeze and spend a particularly pleasant time. To take this sweet experience even further, we chose to spend the night at theHotel Marina Suites Gran Canaria. See prices, photos and availability – and make a reservation

OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN Gran Canaria
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.
5. Restaurant Que Bien
High above Playa de Puerto Rico, with a magnificent view of the resort, Restaurant Que Bien is one of the best restaurants in Puerto Rico. We loved the large bay windows overlooking the ocean, the simple wooden furniture and the terracotta tiles.
The menu offers a Mediterranean gastronomic experience, with Italian influences, that stands out in the region. Great attention is paid to product quality. The menu is relatively short, with 3 or 4 proposals per stage, and the desserts are homemade.

6. Restaurant La Taberna Timanfaya
Still high above Playa de Puerto Rico, Restaurant La Taberna Timanfaya offers the intimate setting of a cave with bluish lights. We really liked the raw, whitewashed or exposed stone walls, and the wood touches on the furniture. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, ideal for concentrating on the flavors on the plate.
In the kitchen, chef Gerhard Lumpi creates an international menu where carefully selected, high-quality local produce rivals for freshness. Delicately prepared and presented, they delighted our taste buds and make this table one of the best on the south coast.

7. Henry’s Restaurant
At the end of a cul-de-sac, the decor of Henry’s Restaurant really amused us. More than 2,500 ties hang on the walls. They give a singular, particularly welcoming atmosphere to this place, created in 1985 by the famous Henry. Musical evenings are very lively.
In the kitchen, Chef Juan prepares a variety of dishes that combine local produce with recipes from elsewhere. Part of the menu is dedicated to grilled meat, but vegetarian options are plentiful and seafood is also available.

8. JREstaurants
The Jre family is Italian, with Madame from Tuscany and Monsieur from Puglia. They moved to this little corner of paradise, just outside the city, almost in the mountains, to watch their son grow up. And give free rein to their 2 passions: the ocean and good food.
Restaurant JREstaurants offers a tasty selection of authentic Italian dishes, to be enjoyed on the room’s plush banquettes. We enjoyed the shade of the large tree on the terrace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city below. A moment out of time.
