Yes, we recommend the Marina Suites Gran Canaria Hotel. In our opinion, this establishment is an excellent choice for a pleasant stay with family or friends in Puerto Rico. With its original marine decor, numerous amenities, swimming pool and children’s play area, you’ll find everything you need for an excellent vacation. What’s more, its proximity to Playa de Puerto Rico and Playa de Amadores makes it an ideal choice for enjoying the beaches too.

Decoration and atmosphere
We loved the hotel’s sea-inspired ambience. Marine decor is omnipresent, as the name suggests. Blue dominates the common areas, evoking the immensity of the ocean. The wooden furniture reminded us of that found on a boat, creating a warm, authentic atmosphere. At the entrance, an anchor sets the scene, inviting visitors to embark on an escapade at sea!
The room
Our room was large and practical. We particularly liked the nautical theme, the stripes, the rope-wrapped lamp and the wood in the bathroom. Room amenities included a kettle, coffee machine, small fully-equipped kitchen, ironing board, small bottle of wine and beach bag. A real little apartment hotel!
We also had a lounge and terrace, two designer armchairs, a table and chairs for dinner or lunch. The view of the port and the ocean transported us to other horizons!

The bathroom
The bathroom was clean and spacious. There was even a bathtub. Although narrow, it was a great way to relax after a long day! We also found hygiene products from the Naturals Remedies cosmetics brand. A treat for the skin.
For our comfort, bathrobes and slippers were also provided. We used them to get to the hotel’s wonderful pool!
The breakfast
Breakfast comes in the form of a hearty buffet offering a wealth of options. We enjoyed the Spanish scrambled eggs, churros and other local specialties. The choice of products on offer, whether sweet (pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cakes, cereals) or savoury (cheeses, charcuterie, vegetables), was highly appreciated. This delicious meal got our day off to a great start!
The swimming pool
Hotel Marina Suites Gran Canaria boasts a swimming pool with a long infinity edge and magnificent sea views. It’s one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen! It is also suitable for all ages with its different depths. Ideal for families, but also for those who want to relax by the ocean.
Next to the pool is a superb cliff. We rested on the outdoor terrace, which offers an extraordinary panorama.
Equipment and common areas
The hotel offers a wide range of facilities, including sports facilities! You’ll enjoy a gym equipped with Technogym cardio and weight equipment, as well as a virtual bike room for cycling enthusiasts. The establishment also offers a golf package for the Salobre Golf Club, a twenty-minute drive away.
Although there’s no full spa, the hotel does offer a massage and beauty treatment service for relaxation and rejuvenation. There are also 2 Jacuzzis!
Children can also enjoy their stay and have fun thanks to the activities planned especially for them. We were astonished to come across a playground entirely dedicated to them. The hotel has a club, the Octopus Kids Club, which offers workshops and games!
The restoration
There’s a friendly bar next to the swimming pool, which resembles a lighthouse. A comfortable Yacht Club is also available. Sip a cocktail or enjoy a hot drink at tea time! You can also enjoy the El Puerto restaurant. We found the menu appetizing and the dishes very well presented.

History
The hotel is distinguished by its marine history! Marina Suites lives up to its name. Located in front of Puerto Rico’s marina, it has also adopted its codes and colors. We loved the nautical atmosphere that permeates the whole place, from the entrance to the rooms. Stripes, anchors, lighthouses and shades of blue will make you feel like you’re boarding a ship!

How to get there
If you’re arriving at Gran Canaria airport, you can get there by rental car, the best way to get around the island if you’re planning to explore the surrounding area. Read our article on the subject!
Cabs are also available. Buses can also take you to Puerto Rico. Take line 91 towards Puerto de Mogan and stop at Barranco Agua la Perra. The journey takes around 1 hour, including a 10-minute walk to the hotel once in Puerto Rico.

Parking
The establishment does not have its own parking lot. However, we did see a space reserved for bicycles at the entrance!
Pay parking is available near the marina. If you run out, 2 private parking lots, Parking Puerto Rico Gran Canaria and Aparcamientos / Parkplatz, are also available.

In addition to the marine ambience that will appeal to the youngest visitors, there are play areas for children, including a slide area and a kids’ club with Jack the octopus as its mascot. There are also board games, mini-golf, table tennis and a section of the pool suitable for the little ones!
