Why stay at Hotel Cristina by Tigotan?
Hotel Cristina is the ideal choice for a waterfront city break. In our opinion, this is one of the best hotels in Las Palmas.
- The famous Playa de las Canteras is just a stone’s throw from the hotel: we loved taking a cool stroll there in the early morning, before discovering all the city has to offer.
- The sea view from the room is very beautiful: the ocean is really close and to hear the sound of the surf from the bed is an incredible luxury.
- The pool is a good size for a city center: ideal for a dip in the pool after a day’s sightseeing.

Is Hotel Cristina by Tigotan worth it? Our review
We appreciated the quality of the facilities, the impeccable service and the proximity to the beach. Our room was relatively spacious and comfortable, with a magnificent view of the ocean. We really enjoyed the large beachside pool with its vast solarium, as well as the fitness room overlooking the harbor.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cristina by Tigotan and would recommend it to anyone wishing to spend a few days in Las Palmas. It combines city activities with the pleasures of the beach.
Decoration and atmosphere
The atmosphere is elegant, simple and relaxed. It offers an atmosphere conducive to relaxation and well-being. The decor is well thought-out, with modern touches and soft colors creating a pleasant, soothing atmosphere. The common areas invited us to relax.

The room
Our room was spacious, bright and modern. We particularly liked the soft colors and textures. The sobriety of the décor gave way to a splendid ocean view.
We had a glass-fronted bacon with a small table and two colorful chairs to take full advantage of the view and the sunset. It was really nice to fall asleep so close to the water.
However, we found the establishment a little lacking in the luxury you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. For example, there was only one bottle of water available in the room.

The bathroom
In our room, the bathroom wasn’t very large, but it was equipped with a bathtub. We had several thick, soft towels at our disposal. A sheet, prominently displayed near the sink, urged us to reduce the environmental impact of our laundry management.
The hygiene products were from Spanish brand The Power of Natural, 100% sustainable natural cosmetics with a hint of aromatic herbs. The toilets were separate.
The breakfast
For breakfast, Hotel Cristina by Tigotan in Las Palmas offers a varied buffet at the Areca restaurant. You’ll find homemade products such as omelettes à la demande and ready-made dishes like sausages and vegetables. We particularly appreciated the choice of products on offer, whether sweet (pastries, fresh-cut fruit, yoghurts, etc.) or savoury (cheeses, cold meats, ready-made meals, raw vegetables, etc.).

Swimming pools and beaches
The hotel swimming pool is heated. You can swim here at any time of year. The sound of the waves in the background ensures a very relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel overlooks the northernmost stretch of Playa de las Canteras, the Playa Grande. It’s a long urban beach, often recognized as one of the best in Europe. We found plenty of facilities, bars and restaurants.
Equipment and common areas
We also took advantage of the TechnoGym fitness room. It is located on the top floor with a breathtaking view of the city and port.
The restoration
In addition to the Restaurant Areca, which offers an extensive buffet for breakfast and dinner, the hotel has 2 bars. One is in the hotel lobby, the other on the terrace by the pool. You can enjoy a drink on one of the deckchairs overlooking the ocean.
