Nestling between 2 rock dikes, Playa del Bobo is set back from the center of Costa Adeje. Surrounded by hotel chains, this beach appealed to us for its tranquility and soothing atmosphere. Dotted with palm trees and furnished with deckchairs, it is particularly pleasant.

Is Playa el Bobo in Costa Adeje worth it?
Yes, it’s a quiet little beach that we enjoyed. In fact, it features in our article on the most beautiful beaches in Costa Adeje. A whole stretch of sand is laid out with deckchairs and parasols. It’s also smaller than the resort’s other beaches, and slightly off-center. In fine weather, the bluish hues of the sky and ocean merge into one. The Iberostar Bouganville Playa Hotel boasts breathtaking views of the Playa del Bobo – see prices, photos and availability.
Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made up of fine black sand, which is pleasant to walk on.
Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are very good. The descent into the water is gentle and gradual. The bathing area is clearly demarcated between 2 rock dikes. The beach is also supervised.
Installations
We didn’t notice any beachside toilets, but you’ll find a few shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity if you need them. We also noted the presence of showers on the sand. Sun loungers and parasols are available for hire.

OUR TIPS TO RENT A CAR IN Tenerife
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.

- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.

With children
Playa del Bobo is guarded. Entry into the water is gradual, so that younger children can learn to swim at their own pace. We didn’t notice any children’s play equipment on the beach, but there are plenty of amenities nearby. You can also take your little ones on a dolphin and whale-watching cruise from the harbor, just a 12-minute walk away – see activity details.
Naturism
It is not possible to practice naturism on this beach.
Eating out
You’ll find restaurants, snack bars and bars along the beach. It’s just south of the city center, with a few good culinary addresses in the vicinity. We particularly recommend Restaurant Almar Tenerife, less than 8 minutes’ walk away. We were seduced by its exquisite seafood cuisine and exceptional setting!
