If you’re looking for city-center accommodation with a festive atmosphere, we recommend you stay at the Hotel Urban Anaga in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Its main asset is its rooftop, which houses a bar and offers a breathtaking view of the city’s rooftops!

Why stay at Hotel Urban Anaga?
This hotel is part of our selection of the best establishments in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Here are its 3 main assets in our opinion:
- Rooftop: enjoy views of the city center and waterfront from the hotel’s perched terrace, the ideal place for a drink after a day of sightseeing!

- Location: right in the heart of the city, the hotel is within easy reach of major tourist attractions, restaurants and stores. The Church of Notre-Dame de la Conception is just a 2-minute walk away.

- Atmosphere: this establishment stands out for its more festive, less relaxing atmosphere. In our opinion, it’s better suited to nightlife enthusiasts, as the rooftop regularly hosts parties that can run late.

- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.

Is the Urban Anaga Hotel worth it? Our review
Yes, especially if you’re looking for a hotel with a lively, festive atmosphere! It’s a great starting point for exploring the city on foot. It’s also home to Restaurant Kiki, one of the city’s best, and the rooftop Terraza Urban 180 bar, which will liven up your evenings. Although we wouldn’t recommend this establishment to those looking for peace and quiet, it will appeal to nightlife lovers!

Decoration and atmosphere
The atmosphere at Hotel Urban Anaga is both festive and youthful. We were astonished by the bold decor, with its heterogeneous mix of retro and modern elements. While the reception area is plunged into darkness, lit only by colorful neon lights, the breakfast room has a resolutely vintage feel. This mix of genres really surprised us! The lounge area perfectly illustrates this duality: leather armchairs with traditional charm sit alongside a modern alcove decorated with bright yellow neon.

The room
At first glance, the decoration of our room seemed more sober than that of the hotel’s common areas. On closer inspection, however, we noticed some surprising decorative elements, such as an Oriental-style light fixture, or a painted wall depicting a period social scene. The room was spacious and offered plenty of room to relax.

We appreciated the glass coffee table in the center of the room, surrounded by leather armchairs, and the many windows that let in natural light. We found several amenities in the room, including a safe to store our valuables safely, a coffee machine with pods, and tea bags.

The bathroom
In our bedroom, the bathroom featured an open-plan shower. We also discovered hygiene products. A bathrobe and slippers were provided for added comfort. The shower reflected the hotel’s original decor, standing out with its giant barcode printed on the glass.

The breakfast
The hotel’s breakfast takes the form of an extensive buffet with a variety of sweet and savory choices to suit all tastes. We observed homemade products such as tortillas, but also hot dishes like scrambled eggs or grilled bacon.

The range of products on offer was impressive, from sweet (pastries, cereals, yoghurts, plant-based milks, fruit juices) to savoury (charcuterie, cheeses, tributes). We also really liked the vintage decor of the breakfast room, with its retro elements.

Equipment and common areas
Although the establishment doesn’t have many facilities, it does have a gym, communal areas and a rooftop. The rooftop terrace is furnished with white tables and sofas that are no longer very clean, but it boasts a breathtaking view of the city. Unfortunately, we noticed a rather unpleasant smell of alcohol in the air, as this is also a party venue.

The restoration
The hotel is home to the rooftop Bar Terraza Urban 180 and Restaurant Kiki, one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The fusion cuisine skillfully blends Japanese flavors with Canarian influences, through elaborate dishes.

Where is the hotel?
The establishment is located in the capital of Tenerife. Its exact address is as follows: Calle Imeldo Serís, 19 (38003) Santa Cruz.
- In the heart of downtown

How to get there?
The hotel is located right in the historic center of Santa Cruz. We don’t recommend going by car, as there are many narrow, one-way streets around the establishment. The tramway passes right in front of the hotel, too, complicating traffic flow. Opt instead for the buses that serve the city from the island’s airports or for cabs. Find out more here.
