1. Restaurant Los Guayres (1 star)
In the elegant setting of theHotel Cordial Mogán Playa, the Michelin-starred Restaurant Los Guayres offered us a hushed gastronomic experience, a rarity in the seaside resorts of southern Gran Canaria. Chef Alexis Álvarez, a native of the island, fuses traditional Canarian cuisine with contemporary influences.
We enjoyed every dish on the Tasting Menu. The dishes were prepared with top-quality local ingredients. Fish and seafood first and foremost (red tuna, grouper, squid, shrimp…), but also vegetables and fruit, each more tasty than the last, and very delicately prepared.

2. I love Mogan Restaurant
On the edge of the marina, we were seduced by thewarm, friendlyatmosphere of this small restaurant, where we were welcomed by a dynamic, friendly team. Like the restaurant’s specialities (fish and seafood), the decor is inspired by the sea, with a few nautical elements here and there. We were able to enjoy the sunset from our table.
Mediterranean and Canarian flavors take center stage. The menu features mainly, but not exclusively, fresh fish and seafood. The dishes, prepared with top-quality local ingredients, celebrate the culinary richness of the region. On the kiosk square facing the port, we first spotted the colorful decor of Restaurant La Pasión. The printed tablecloths and vintage decor contribute to the particularly cheerful atmosphere of this lively place.

4. Ahul Restaurant
In one of the small colonial-style houses overlooking the harbor, we appreciated theserene atmosphere and clean design of Restaurant Ahul. The neutral tones of its contemporary decor are enhanced by turquoise glass and decorative elements, reminiscent of the color of the water in the marina just across the street.
The cuisine appeared to be a symphony of international and local flavors. Among the dishes we found were fresh fish ceviche, paella and lobster, as well as gofio and Iberian ham… These coexist with a wide range of vegetarian dishes. OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN Gran Canaria
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.
5. Bolero Restaurant
Still on the harbor, Restaurant Boléro is a family-run institution with over 30 years of history, renowned for its warm, festive atmosphere. We particularly appreciated its corner location. It provides a very pleasant breeze on a hot day, with an unobstructed view of the harbor yachts. The atmosphere is enhanced by the bolero music playing in the background.
The cuisine is a fusion of Mediterranean and Canary Island flavors based on local produce. Among the dishes on offer, we found specialties such as Pulpo al Mojo Verde or the traditional Gazpacho, as well as a fine selection of tapas. To accompany them, don’t miss the selection of local wines and, as an aperitif, opt for the sangria, which is delicious.

6. Restaurant Casito Mediterraneo
Still on the harbor, on the edge of the flower-filled streets of Puerto de Mogán, we liked the intimate, relaxed atmosphere of Restaurant Casito Mediterraneo. The sleek, contemporary decor, all gray and beige, is enlivened byverdant arrangements of flowers and plants. The tables on the terrace make the most of the view of the boats in the harbor.
The cuisine here is essentially Mediterranean-inspired, with a touch of Canarian. As with most restaurants in Puerto de Mogán, seafood takes pride of place, but we also found that vegan and vegetarian options are not outdone, from starters to desserts. 7. Restaurant Jamonal de Mogán
In the backstreets of Puerto de Mogán, on the banks of Barranco Mogán, Restaurant Jamonal de Mogán is a little more than a wine bar , as it also offers a fine range of food and drink. We loved the bottles of Spanish wine lining the walls and the Iberian hams hanging from the ceiling between the fans. You can choose to eat and drink on the terrace around a barrel.
The restaurant offers authentic Spanish cuisine, which we really enjoyed. The selection of Iberian hams and wines (over 400 references) is exclusive. It’s the perfect place to enjoy tapas on the go with a fine wine. More formal dining is also possible. The dishes, also Spanish, are delicious. The cheeses come from the Canary Islands.

A little further on, still on the banks of the Barroco Mogán, we enjoyed the authentic Italian atmosphere of Restaurant La Gondola. With its veranda terrace, sober chic decor, white tablecloths, subdued lighting and proximity to the little canal, it’s almost like being in Venice.
The vast majority of dishes are Italian: antipasti, bruschetta, ravioli, risotto and pasta! All the traditional flavors of Italy are expressed through carefully selected fresh, local and quality ingredients. Another part of the menu, more classic or more local, is dedicated to meats and fish. Desserts are homemade. Don’t miss the tiramisu or the panna cota!

Restaurant Qué Tal by Stena
Norwegian chef Stena Pettersen chose to open what has become one of the best restaurants in Puerto de Mogán, in one of the charming little streets near the port. We liked the contemporary decor, both colorful and dark, which stands out from what we’re used to in the Canaries. The atmosphere is unique, festive and warm, true to the chef’s personality.
The cuisine is highly inventive, fusing refined Mediterranean cooking with international influences. Fresh, local produce is carefully selected from a wide range of fish and meat dishes. Original creations masterfully executed.
