Costa Adeje’s best beaches – map
In Costa Adeje, you’ll find mainly black sand beaches. Most are very well equipped, and located close to the city center.

- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.
1. Playa del Duque
Why do we love it?
Located to the north of Costa Adeje, this large beach is very popular because it’s so close to the town center. It starts at the Port of Puerto Colon and stretches northwards along the beaches that line the coast.
Due to its size, the beach is divided into 2 sections: Playa del Duque Nord and Playa del Duque Sud. It is well equipped. You’ll find showers, toilets, umbrellas and deckchairs, as well as bars and shops just a few meters away. For a relaxing day on the beach in Tenerife, this place is a must! We really enjoyed walking along the beach at dusk. Beyond the superb scenery, we were delighted to dip our feet in the black sand warmed by the last rays of the sun.

2. Playa de Fañabé
Why do we love it?
At the end of the day, this long beach offered us splendid views of the ocean. The wave-swept black sand and orange sky captivated us. It was a wonderful play of light and reflections! Our full article on Playa de Fañabé will be available soon.
This beach is particularly suitable for families. Here you can enjoy water sports, including pedal-boating with an integrated slide. On the promenade that runs along the sand, you’ll find children’s play equipment. Between the miniature golf course and the trampoline, your little ones won’t have time to get bored!

3. Playa de Puerto Colon (Playa de la Pinta)
Why do we love it?
Nestling between 2 breakwaters, Playa de la Pinta (article available soon) adjoins the Port of Puerto Colon. In addition to the inflatable floating off the beach, you’ll enjoy the proximity of numerous bars and restaurants.
We highly recommend a trip up to the shopping mall opposite. Once upstairs, we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the resort and the ocean as the sun set!
Boat excursions to observe the island’s dolphins and whales depart from Puerto Colon harbor. Take this opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience – see photos, photos and availability.

4. Playa de Torviscas
Why do we love it?
Heading south along Playa de Fañabé, we reached Playa de Torviscas (article available soon). It is particularly suitable for families. Between 2 swims, your children can play in the playground on the promenade.
As you lounge on a deckchair facing the ocean, the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep. When we visited, the sky was overcast but striking! If you’re feeling peckish, just walk a few yards to the nearby restaurants.

5. Playa del Bobo
Why do we love it?
Surrounded by hotel chains, Playa del Bobo (article available soon) appealed to us for its relaxing atmosphere. It’s also smaller than Costa Adeje’s other beaches, and slightly off-center. A whole stretch of sand has been laid out with deckchairs and parasols.
The bathing area is delimited by 2 rock dikes. Dotted with palm trees, the beach is particularly pleasant. In fine weather, the blue of the sky and ocean merge into one. Hotel Iberostar Bouganville Playa boasts a privileged view of Playa del Bobo – see prices, photos and availability.

6. Playa de Troya
Why do we love it?
Surrounded by 2 dykes that plunge into the ocean, Playa de Troya (article available soon) seduced us with its superb scenery against a backdrop of mountains. At the time of our visit, amateur surfers were practicing on their boards, waiting for a good wave.
Further away from the center of Costa Adeje, this small beach was quieter than the others. Here you can enjoy a range of water sports, including pedal-boating with an integrated waterslide.

Costa Adeje is flanked by 2 other seaside resorts: Playa de las Américas to the south, and La Caleta to the north.
In Playa de las Américas, you’ll discover..:

What’s the best beach south of Tenerife?
If you’re travelling by car, we highly recommend a visit to Playa de la Tejita (article available soon) during your stay in Tenerife. In our opinion, it’s the most beautiful beach in the south of the island. It offers an incredible view of La Montaña Roja. There are several hiking trails through the nature reserve!
