Tenerife has many 5-star establishments around the island. The highest concentration is in Adeje, in the south of the island around Playa del Duque.

1. Hotel Corales Beach – Royal Hideaway (La Caleta)
Why stay there?
With its bright, contemporary architecture, Hotel Corales Beach stands out from other Costa Adeje establishments. Nestling to the north of the resort at La Caleta, it enjoys a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere. This haven of peace offers exceptional services and a whole concept based on local gastronomy. These include the one-star Restaurant San-Hô, and the illustrious 2-star Restaurant El Rincón de Juan Carlos.

Why stay there?
Overlooking the Costa Adeje seafront, this prestigious resort seduced us with its typical Canary Island decor and tropical plants. Off-center from the bustling promenade, this hotel is a haven of peace. The many pools and the Nammu Spa invite you to relax and unwind.

Beach and pool access
The resort is close to Playa del Duque, but you have to cross a major road to reach it, which isn’t very pleasant. Instead, check with the hotel, which offers a shuttle service to the beach.
The facility boasts several pools of varying shapes and sizes on different levels, including a children’s pool.

OUR TIPS TO RENT A CAR IN Tenerife
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- If you’re planning to explore the mountains, don ‘t take the smallest cars. A more powerful engine will be more comfortable.
- But don’t take too big a car either, as some roads are narrow.
- There’s a lot of demand and it’s an island, so book early.
3. GF Victoria Hotel (Playa del Duque)
Why stay there?
Designed for families, this unusual resort impressed us with the quality of its leisure facilities. It boasts a water park that children love, and a mini-adventure park where they can try their hand at rock climbing. Certain areas of the resort are reserved exclusively for adults, so you can spend some quality time together during your vacation.
It is also home to Restaurant Donaire, one of our favourite restaurants in Costa Adeje!

This large resort is equidistant from Playa del Duque and Playa Fañabé. It’s about a 10-minute walk to reach them.

- a suspended swimming pool for adults in a glass basin attached to the hotel’s façade,
- a naturist pool on the 7th floor.

Why stay there?
Located just north of Playa de Fañabé, this luxury hotel charmed us with its tranquility and location. Ideal for relaxation, it boasts 2 superb outdoor pools, one with a small waterfall, as well as private access to the beach. We really liked our room, with its traditional Canary Island decor and pleasant balcony.

Why stay there?
Nestled in the hills above Costa Adeje, Aparthotel Baobab Suites offers contemporary, elegant suites, some with private pools. 9. Hotel Crystal Los Gigantes (Los Gigantes)
Why stay there?
Opening in 2023, this luxurious complex of 19 apartments embodies hotel excellence on Tenerife’s west coast. We really liked its minimalist, clean-lined design: white walls and glass panels. Each apartment has its own private pool or Jacuzzi, for total privacy. The unobstructed views of the Los Gigantes cliffs from the terraces are breathtaking. A unique experience.

10. Hotel Botanico y Oriental Spa Garden (Puerto de la Cruz)
Why stay there?
This 5-star hotel has it all! As well as offering magnificent views of the ocean and Mount Teide, it boasts an impressive infrastructure. Here you’ll find 4 restaurants, each with a different specialty (Spanish, Italian or Asian cuisine). We particularly appreciated the hotel’s elegant decor, as well as that of our room. The walls were adorned with antique paintings of tropical birds. This gave the room an exotic, immediate vacation feel! Our balcony overlooked the hotel’s lush gardens. Finally, don’t hesitate to wander around the hotel: we found a pool table and couldn’t resist playing a game!

11. Hotel Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey (Santa Cruz)
Why stay there?
The only 5-star hotel in Santa Cruz, this establishment has embodied Canarian colonial elegance since 1950. Nestled along the famous Rambla de Santa Cruz next to Parc García Sanabria, we fell under the spell of its interior courtyard adorned with climbing plants. We were particularly taken with its refined yet traditional decor, combining noble materials, moldings and antique furniture. Hotel Grand Mencey is also home to Restaurant Papa Negra, and 3 other restaurants. In addition to its superb outdoor swimming pool, it hides a magnificent spa area where you can recharge your batteries after a long day of sightseeing!
