Make sure you bring appropriate clothing, especially if you&#8217;re climbing Teide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The island is quite large, and journey times can be long between north and south. Spend 5 nights in the north (Puerto de la Cruz or San Cristobal de la Laguna) then 5 nights in the south (Los Cristianos, Las Americas or Costa Adeje). This way, you&#8217;ll drive less, but it&#8217;s of course possible to visit everything from a single accommodation in the north or south.<\/p>\n\n<p>This organization allows you to minimize your daily driving time, discover the different atmospheres of the island and take advantage of the best times of day for each site.<\/p>\n\n<div A popular destination for its ideal wind conditions, it is a renowned surfing spot. With its fine sand and shallow waters, it&#8217;s ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts alike. With breathtaking views of Monta\u00f1a Roja, it invites you to relax and contemplate. We loved this superb beach, which combines a change of scenery, tranquillity and fun!<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stop 2 &#8211; Mirador de Monta\u00f1a Roja<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Canarias-Lovers\/Tenerife\/El-Medano\/Town\/i-9QPjDKf\/0\/LL7jPDcPQHXJt5kLvPsQM9ZpvHXmnLKcHsFrvjTtM\/L\/el-medano-1-L.jpg\" alt=\"El M&#xE9;dano - Monta&#xF1;a Roja viewpoint\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>At Puerto del M\u00e9dano, we discovered a charming viewpoint overlooking the mountains and the ocean. The mirador is home to a slender sculpture facing the sea. There&#8217;s also an information panel on the Monta\u00f1a Roja nature reserve. A pleasant stroll along the water&#8217;s edge provides access to this site, which offers superb panoramic views. Colourful little fishing boats add to the charm of the place!<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stop 3 &#8211; Los Abrigos natural pools<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Canarias-Lovers\/Tenerife\/El-Medano\/Piscinas-los-Abrigos\/i-KVSj7hk\/0\/MRZbpHPzJB3ctGvkhnF7NpLqTWP9Wz9FKCqpzBCMQ\/L\/piscinas-los-abrigos-1-L.jpg\" alt=\"Piscinas Naturales Los Abrigos\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Sculpted over time by the movement of the ocean, these natural pools offer a peaceful setting where turquoise water mingles with the raging waves of the open sea. In our opinion, these are the most beautiful natural pools on the island<a href=\"https:\/\/canarias-lovers.com\/en\/natural-pools-tenerife-lagoons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see our list<\/a>). They totally seduced us. Although it&#8217;s off the beaten tourist track, it&#8217;s still a popular spot.<br\/>We particularly appreciated the view of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding cliffs, offering a breathtaking panorama. The road to Las Ca\u00f1adas is an experience in itself, as you cross the sea of clouds into a breathtaking lunar landscape. The first light of day sublimates the colors of the volcanic rocks, creating an almost unreal atmosphere.<br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/canarias-lovers.com\/en\/national-park-teide-tenerife-attractions-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See our complete park guide<\/a> to choose your stops.<br\/>But here are our 3 recommendations:<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stop 1 &#8211; Mirador Llano de Ucanca<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Canarias-Lovers\/Tenerife\/Teide\/Mirador-Llano-de-Ucanca\/i-V4M47JB\/0\/LP79QbQWH97rmTPfH6rsGMphBRHzFGRdbk57mkcPV\/L\/Mirador-Llano-Ucanca-L.jpg\" alt=\"Mirador Llano de Ucanca\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Our favourite viewpoint <a href=\"https:\/\/canarias-lovers.com\/en\/mirador-llano-de-ucanca-tenerife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mirador Llano de Ucanca<\/a>, with the vast desert plain, the Roques de Garcia in the middle ground and the volcano in the background. The ochre and reddish colors of the plain vary according to the light of day, creating different moods at every hour.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stop 2 &#8211; Roques de Garc\u00eda<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Canarias-Lovers\/Tenerife\/Best-of\/i-pvFVTGs\/0\/KKDmsjHdDTQkfgZWxWqQ2phTkKtkWmQTZw8XtMgZb\/L\/parc-national-teide-tenerife-L.jpg\" alt=\"walk to Roques de Garc&#xED;a\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The Roques de Garc\u00eda are a spectacular group of rock formations. The most famous, El Roque Cinchado, stands proudly with Mount Teide in the background. This is one of the island&#8217;s most emblematic views.<br\/>You can just walk a little flat, or take a 3.5 km circular hike around these formations, and enjoy the different perspectives.<br\/>Duration: 1h-1h30 for the complete loop, but you can walk just part of the way.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stop 3 &#8211; Minas de San Jos\u00e9<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Canarias-Lovers\/Tenerife\/Best\/Hikes-nature\/i-jPgsvSB\/0\/LxdXm87b5PvNhZpKhbrwLKKM5jQXGxThZ4KPJTW8k\/L\/Parque-teide-minas-san-jose-L.jpg\" alt=\"Minas de San Jose\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Minas de San Jos\u00e9 is a former mining area that bears witness to the region&#8217;s intense volcanic activity. We were surprised by the lunar atmosphere of the landscapes, with smooth or stony surfaces and lots of color.<br\/>Traces of mining operations blend harmoniously with the natural landscape.
