Different species are observed for a few days each month, but the residents are often sperm whales.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gran Canaria&#8217;s resident dolphins<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of probability, you&#8217;re more likely to see one of these 2 species:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bottlenose dolphin<\/strong> (Tursiops truncatus)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the world&#8217;s best-known dolphin species. They are dark gray on the back and lighter on the belly.<br\/>Their average length is 2.7 meters (8.8 feet) for males and 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) for females. These excursions vary from 2 to 4 hours.
